By Terry Donaghue, Board Chair, ACCT Canada ACCT Canada was created in late 2004 as a national organization linking the four regional academic technology transfer networks – Springboard Atlantic (then called the Atlantic Research Commercialization Network), Les BLEU, OnSETT and Westlink in order to enhance and support the regional networks and bring a national voice for tech transfer in Canada. It was thus structured as a “network of networks”. Individual institutions became members of ACCT Canada by virtue of their membership in their regional network. In 2008, the bylaws of ACCT Canada were amended creating a new membership structure. The four regional networks continued as “Full Members” and two new membership classes were created - Charter Members, being organizations who are members in good standing of the Full Members and Associate Members, being service providers, companies and others within one or more of the regions who are not otherwise eligible for regular membership in a regional network. |
